Journals Online project

Description

The Journals Online (JOLs) project, initiated in 1998 under the Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information (PERI), aims to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and quality of peer-reviewed journals published in developing countries. The project provides support for developing online journal hosting platforms, training in publishing best practices, and improving the capacity of local organizations to manage these platforms. JOLs include initiatives like African Journals Online and various country-specific platforms (e.g., Philippines Journals Online, Nepal Journals Online) to ensure that research outputs are easily accessible and valuable, thus fostering balanced global research dissemination and greater impact.
